I find a monochromatic colour scheme gives a room a very special character. The monochromatic palette is composed of simple colour gradations or of various intensities of the same hue. The result is soft and pleasing. A monochromatic scheme offers an elegant decorating solution to open spaces. It also allows for smooth transitions between rooms by integrating different parts of the home that can be seen from the same standing point. For my son Philippe's bedroom, I chose an enchanting monochromatic blue palette (A201).
